Spring is right around the corner and so is the 2nd edition of the MI Sunrise Journal. Art-wise, the spring 2019 edition will be dedicated to birds. We wanted to shine a light on a scantly mentioned diving bird found in the region, the Common Merganser, so put a call out for a photo. The response was so overwhelming and delightful it quickly became apparent that we could fill an edition with nothing but stunning images from birders and so that is exactly what we plan to do. Featured in the call for submission poster is a fine snap from Rick and Connie Denomme.
For the second edition the editors would welcome book reviews in addition to other forms of literary writing. With the profound increase of self publishing it is easy to miss a local author or a book which might be enjoyed by others and we would love to hear reader's take on the books that interest or inspire them. In order to get the journal up and running by May 5th, we ask that submissions be emailed to us by April 5th. If interested an 11 x 17 printable version of the 2019 spring submissions poster may be found on the website under submissions.
From the Sunrise Journal we wish you a merry holiday season and a fruitful and happy new year.
